Get HYPED for Ultimate Ears HYPERBOOM

This month we’ve brought the Ultimate Ears HYPERBOOM speaker – the loudest and bassiest from the brand yet – to Europe, and we are just as hyped as the name suggests.

HYPERBOOM is an all new speaker from Ultimate Ears and, unlike the BOOM, MEGBOOM, WONDERBOOM and other portable speakers from them, it’s designed for the home. And when we say home, we mean in the actual home. The design is sleek and stylish, and the diamond shape means the sound fills any space – whether in a living room or garden. This isn’t a speaker that lives in the garage unless your mates are round.

While 2020 hasn’t been the best year for many reasons, small gatherings + HYPERBOOM = a damn good time.

We had a bit of a challenge in the product wasn’t brand new, having launched in the US earlier this year. Plus, we couldn’t get media and influencers hands-on with it given all the restrictions on meetings.

So, we did the next best thing and sent out a few samples to media and influencer’s homes, so they could experience the Bluetooth audio and pounding bass first-hand before launch (apologies to all affected neighbours). With that done, we scheduled briefing calls to chat through the speaker’s key features, with a view to queuing up some great launch coverage.

On day one we had coverage including the Express, Stuff, Pocket-Lint, Trusted Reviews and What Hi-Fi?. Plus, editorial awards from Shortlist and TechRadar before the day was out.

We didn’t stop there. Coverage is great, but we also wanted to let Ultimate Ears fans in UK, France and Spain know HYPERBOOM has arrived in their country. So our in-house design team created a range of social content, including Facebook banners, videos, Facebook Stories and Instagram Stories for Ultimate Ears’ EMEA and global social channels. These were tailored to each country, showing people partying (which we were careful to show as socially-distanced, small groups) in London, Paris and Barcelona respectively.

We handled the UK activation on social over the launch weekend, with a paid reach of over 1,000,000, and 4,500 link clicks through to the HYPERBOOM on the John Lewis website, and our outstanding TechRadar review.

See how we brought the bass to social with this video, created by our design team.
