This Week We Have Been . . .
… escaping the endlessly looped One Direction on the office Spotify, Bruce and Tarek headed down to Pontins in Camber Sands last weekend for ATP, curated by The National.
Whilst a marked improvement on the typical Glastonbury camping experience, Camber Sands Pontins still bears a certain resemblance to a Siberian Gulag, with icy cubical chalets sporting mattresses like shelves. But when you’re watching The Antlers, Local Natives, Kurt Vile, Wild Beasts and The National – and it’s £3 a pint – who cares?
… rubbing shoulders with royalty and the stars at the premiere of the much anticipated The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It is certainly this Christmas’s must-see movie and definitely recommended in 3D where you are immediately transported in to the centre of the action of Middle Earth. The prequel to The Lord of The Rings follows the story of Bilbo Baggins on his journey to the Lonely Mountain with a motley bunch of Dwarves, to reclaim lost treasure and their home from the dragon Smaug. Spread over three films, you’ll have to wait for the conclusion but the first in the trilogy is jam-packed with stunning action sequences, lingering shots over the awe-inspiring New Zealand wilds and reunites LOTR fans with much loved characters. We urge to get down to the cinema for the perfect diversion and escape from the cold Christmas weather!
And finally…
…getting in the Christmas spirit at Winter Wonderland. Bundled up in hats and scarves we braved the freezing temperatures and bustling crowds to grab a glass of mulled wine and stock up on some festive gifts! We also checked out the skaters on the picturesque ice rink, and desperately wanted to visit the Ice Kingdom, a must-visit if you get the chance!
