Framing Britney Spears
In the latest addition to our long list of celebrity tell all documentaries we have been dying to sink our teeth into, we welcomed the news that Sky Documentaries/NOW TV had brought the New York Times ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary across the Atlantic to land on our screens.
The one off documentary has been long awaited, seeking to provide a reconstruction of Spears’ career through an assembly of interviews and commentary from people around her at the time of her well documented public breakdowns. It’s safe to say, people were deeply moved by what they saw. Commanding an emotional reaction to Britney’s very sad reality has provided ammunition to further the #FreeBritney movement and get her out of the vice grip held on her by her father’s conservatorship.
Both teams had a super quick turnaround on the story, leaving us only a couple of days to get the word out of the exclusive content coming to Sky Documentaries/NOW TV. We hit the phones and got in touch with all of our ents contacts to let them know the news of its arrival on the service and they did not disappoint.
Landing an incredible 320 pieces of coverage across a myriad of top tier consumer, broadcast and national titles. This included the likes of The Guardian, The Independent, Metro, The Times, Express, BBC Radio 2, LadBible, Tyla, HELLO!, Bustle, Grazia, Refinery29 and so many more. We also secured 80% NOW TV attribution as well as 27% Pass credits and 13% Pass links.
We can only assume this means you all have seen it too, so the only thing left to be said is.. #FREEBRITNEY.
