This Week We Have Been . . .
…watching ‘Who Took Nanny’s Pictures?’, and excellent BBC Imagine documentary about the mysterious Vivian Maier – a secretive, French speaking, Chicago-based nanny who just so happened to be a remarkable street photographer. Although her photos were never seen during her lifetime, her substantial collection of negatives was only discovered after her possessions were sold on auction, as she couldn’t afford the storage fees. Fascinating stuff – catch it while it’s still on iPlayer!
Getting our groove on at with it a Pan Am-inspired check-in desk, choreographed routines from singers and dancers, live musical performances, a DJ playing classic disco tracks on vinyl from inside a large glitter ball and New Year’s Eve countdowns at midnight – every night. …kickstarting the festival season by attending the one day festival ‘Night + Day’ presented by The XX. It was a perfect day of live acts and DJs at Hatfield House, cider in hand and the sun even made an appearance.
