Getting in the Festive Spirit
As the countdown for Christmas continues, the PlayStation team have been embracing the festive spirit, unveiling the world’s biggest handcrafted Christmas tree at Spitalfields Market last weekend to celebrate the launch of LittleBigPlanet™3.
The impressive 20 foot tree is inspired by the handcrafted world of the game and took a team of six people over two weeks to build, not to mention months of planning. The extraordinary design is made up of over two tonnes of steel and 100 metres of mixed fabrics, including cable knit, felt and hessian, and PlayStation called upon members of the local community, craft-lovers and gaming fans to help decorate it – with over 500 people turning out on the day!
We were also joined by a host of celebrity fans, with the likes of Stevi Ritchie, Chloe-Jasmine Whichello, Jay James, Konnie Huq and Jenni Falconer helping to spread the Christmas spirit. Check out these great pieces of coverage on Mail Online, Sun online, OK and Reveal.
Anyone that fancies popping down to see the tree in all of its festive glory still can, with the iconic LittleBigPlanet™ star SackBoy set to shine from the top of the tree at Spitalfields Market right up until Christmas!
