Developed as a way for Barbie to ‘express her creativity’, the alternative plastic icons feature pink or purple hair, tattoo sleeves and a range of elaborate body art. Befitting of any East London mantel piece if you ask us.
Sales of Kilner jars are on the up, as everyone’s getting themselves in a pickle over preserves. With celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver and Gizzi Erskine promoting the health benefits of this old favourite, we no longer associate pickling with onions from the local chippy; it’s hard to find a trendy Soho spot that doesn’t feature at least one variation on the menu. We couldn’t get enough of Serial, the hit podcast that explored the murder of Hai Min Lee. So, following on from its success, it’s no surprise that publisher Penguin Random House have decided to turn Tim Weaver’s hit novel, Missing, into an 8-episode podcast in its own right. The novel, which was released in July, focuses on missing persons’ investigations and looks to answer the question ‘Is it possible to disappear?’.
This week the Universal team worked with comedy legend Mr Bean in an ambitious stunt, which shut down the Mall for an hour in honour of the DVD release of his Ultimate Collection and 25 years of success. Recreating one of his most famous scenes in a live 20 minute slapstick performance, mayhem was brought to central London!
