Bring in the blooms for Spring / Summer 2022

Who says floral wreaths and garlands are just for Christmas?

FunnyHowFlowersDoThat.co.uk teamed up with floral artist Harriet Parry to show a group of lifestyle and interiors journalists and influencers just how easy it is to inject a dose of colour and nature into the home outside of the typical seasonal occasions.

Harriet hand-picked a bounty of freshly cut flowers bursting with colour from New Covent Garden Flower Market from zingy orange tulips to romantic stocks to deliciously scented rosemary and Paper White. Held in a stunning location house in E8 (we never wanted to leave!); we selected the industrial urban interior as the perfect backdrop for the riot of colour and delicate texture of the flowers; inspired by the ‘Bright and Breezy’ trend.

Putting Harriet’s fine art background to powerful use, she guided the group through the simple steps to making their own vibrant wreath – adding bold curb appeal to a front door, or an interior statement piece. Once the wreath was done garlands of carnations and Gypsophilia were threaded through wire to create a delicate hanging floral curtain cascading from the bannisters.

The workshop was shot by our very own Fever Studio with Dan Wong capturing beautiful stills featuring Harriet in action. Rob Thorogood applied his moving image magic to the livestream of the event which was shared on @howflowersdothat and @thejoyofplants Facebook and Instagram platforms via IGTV.

Media and influencers felt the power of flowers and we landed articles in House Beautiful, Elle Décor, Harper’s Bazaar and an influencer engagement rate of 5.7%.
