Fever and The ZingZillas rock out in Manchester
With Christmas just around the corner, the BBC Worldwide team at Fever helped organise (and celebrate) one of the first events of the festive calendar by taking The ZingZillas to Manchester to help perform at the city’s big festive light switch-on.
The ZingZillas are a musical band who have their own hit CBeebies show, and it was our task to arrange and promote two extra-special free gigs for fans in the UK’s second city – and they went down a storm!
The first gig in Albert Square went amazingly with members of the public, shoppers and families all rocking out to a mini-set by Zak, Panzee, Tang and Drum. We also rubbed shoulders with Joe McElderry and the Corrie cast before The ZingZillas turned on the official Christmas lights.
No sleep for the wicked, as the next day The ZingZillas hotfooted it to the House of Fraser where the band performed another special gig for shoppers and members of the public.
The Fever team are busy promoting the band’s next gig in Sheffield this weekend – just like for Manchester, we’re getting lots of pre-event listings and news pieces, interviews with lead singer Zak, placing competitions, inviting journalists and their kids to review the gig on the day as well as getting our event pictures out the next day.
