Fever launches Sky Comedy
What do James Corden, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Danny McBride have in common? Well, not much really. But they’re amongst a handful of comedy legends whose critically-acclaimed shows are coming to the new Sky Comedy channel on 27 January. And Fever was tasked to launch it.
We were challenged to bring some New York lounge-style flair to London and give people a preview of what’s to come. We hosted an exclusive preview screening and Q&A for media and influencers at Sea Containers, on the South Bank, transporting them into the new world of Sky Comedy and show the quality of U.S.comedy to come from studio triple threats HBO, NBC and Showtime.
Fever’s role was to run the event – including developing the experience, working with a branding partner, getting attendees there, working with show talent, and hosting the Q&A and importantly making sure everyone had a great time!
We wanted to preview an upcoming show too – enter The Righteous Gemstones, a brand-new hit straight from the U.S. Guests took their seats in the plush, Sky Comedy branded screening room, for screening of episode one, which proves there’s plenty of comic mileage in the antics of a corrupt group of televangelists…
After guests could finally stifle their giggles following the screening, we hosted a Q&A panel discussion fronted by Bauer Media’s Lucie Cave, and starring the Gemstone’s themselves, Danny McBride and Edi Patterson, to chat all things comedy.
Guests included entertainment editors from The Sunday Times Style, The I, Daily Express and Bustle, and there’s a whole cackle of coverage already in the pipeline ahead of the channel’s official launch date next week.
Don’t settle for occasional lols – Sky Comedy is Funny. Every. Damn. Day.
