Launching Shadow of the Colossus on the PS4

Shadow of the Colossus’ legacy as one of the greatest games of all time is undeniable, with most people agreeing it is a masterpiece. Fans all over the world fell in love with its unique visual style and the fraught emotional journey of Wanderer, so we couldn’t let them down when launching Shadow of the Colossus on the PS4.

Helmed by Bluepoint Games, the emotion, intensity and beauty of Fumito Ueda’s original adventure has been given a staggering makeover. With improved visuals and enhanced performance, every epic moment is more breathtaking and memorable than ever before.

Our mission? To help markets across the SIEE regions celebrate its launch on February 7 2018 in spectacular fashion.

Despite having launched more than 12 years ago, the game’s loyal following still create and share art inspired by the iconic game and its characters, big and small. We wanted to tap into this rich visual storytelling and celebrate art in the gaming industry.

To do that we’ve partnered with the amazing graphic artist Matthew Taylor, who has created his interpretation of the vast forbidden expanse and the looming Colossi. This powerful pose reflects the Gaius Colossus as a gnarly hybrid of animal and ruin, and captures the shambling grandeur of the beast. As Wanderer looks up it adds to the scale and presence of this distinctive character within a minimal, muted landscape.

His striking artwork launches a world-wide fan art competition across social media, with the most imaginative entries being carefully curated into a limited edition artbook. Sketch pads at the ready, competition will be colossally cutthroat! To enter, people need to share their Shadow of the Colossus artwork via Twitter using #ColossusArt, with winners receiving their very own copy of the exclusive book.
