Pattern Curation with Toshiba
To celebrate the launch of the Toshiba Encore, the team discovered the art of pattern curation with East London cult pattern-design company, Patternity. The Windows 8.1 tablet is optimised for productivity on-the-go and we hosted an interactive press event to enable attendees to explore the tablet’s in-built features whilst creating their very own fashion garment.
The workshop began with coffee, cake and an Encore demo at Maison Trois Garcons which was followed by a talk at the Patternity studio where co-founders Anna and Grace discussed their vision of seeing pattern everywhere from the mundane to the magnificent. They also shared some pretty impressive credentials, including collaborations with Pretty Polly, Clarks, Richard Brendon and Chinti and Parker to name a few.
The group was then taken on a pattern-spotting field trip around Shoreditch, where Patternity gave hints on tips on capturing the perfect shot with the Encore. We then headed back to the studio to select and manipulate the images into bespoke designs which were sent on to YrStore and printed onto a T-shirt – pretty cool huh?
Thanks to Fiasco, Styloko, Fashionista Barbie and i-am-not-a-celebrity for coming down. If you want to be part of the fun, Toshiba Twitter and Facebook fans have the chance to win their very own T-shirt designed by Patternity – get involved and #LookCloserSeeMore!
