Taking on Fashion Week with the HTC One mini and David Koma
On Wednesday, the HTC UK team announced a brand new project with British fashion design wunderkind David Koma to create a very special edition of the HTC One mini. Having designed for the likes of Lady Gaga and Rihanna – and being behind some of the costumes for Beyonce’s Mrs Carter tour – this was the first time he’d been asked to apply his skills to non-clothing.
Inspired by HTC’s new brand platform of ‘Change’, David’s two designs reflect the transition between his last collection and his forthcoming show (taking place next weekend as part of London Fashion Week). The stunning abstract artwork has been printed onto the back of the HTC One mini, HTC’s newly-announced little sister to the award-winning HTC One.
The collection is ultra-exclusive, and only ten handsets will be available through a Twitter challenge that runs from now until the 22nd September. To win, you need to create your own piece of artwork (any material, any format) inspired by David’s work and submit it to @htc_uk with the hashtag #HTCKoma. Full details of the challenge are here.
With only two days of activity so far, the campaign has been a runaway success and generated a reach of over 183 million – even gaining international interest from here to China! Roll on Fashion Week…
