This Week We Have Been . . .
…giving the lovely Caroline a true Fever-style send-off into married life with the hen do of all hen dos! The main aim of the night (getting Caroline suitably sloshed) was certainly achieved, thanks to awesome cocktails at Foundation Bar. We then partied the night away with some interestingly shaped props and lots of fun games! Here’s to the wedding, just 2 weeks today!
…freaked out by Peter Strickland’s excellent film Berberian Sound System. When a sound engineer (Toby Jones) is invited to an Italian studio to create the sound effects for a film, the last thing he expects is a gory horror movie – or the psychological effects the process will have on him. Strange, abstract, and original filmmaking.
…loving ‘The Way, Way Back’, a fresh and completely believable coming-of-age movie. Sam Rockwell steals the show as lovable water park manager Owen, who takes awkward teen Duncan under his wing – saving him from a hellish summer vacation with his mum’s new boyfriend, played by Steve Carell. Well worth a watch!
…seeing the murky world of Venezuela through the eyes of Magnum photographer Christopher Anderson. His photobook Capitolio is a rare treat – a beautifully bound collection of stark black and white pictures that immerse you in the city of Caracas.
