This Week We Have Been…
…taking a summer holiday in sunny Lagos. Staying in a beautiful villa, we enjoyed the blue skies, basked in the sun and visited lots of pretty beaches. We also indulged in Cataplana, Portuguese steaks and piri-piri chicken, as well as the ultimate treat for a sweet tooth, custard doughnuts! Can we go back next week please?
…enjoying a luxurious lunch at The Pig on the Beach. We’re big fans of The Pig, so when we heard they were opening up a new hotel by the beach, it only seemed right to visit this too! On Saturday we enjoyed a very indulgent lunch, whilst looking out over the beautiful Studland Bay and Old Harry rocks. After enjoying homemade Pimms on a sun lounger, we moved to the terrace where we feasted on extra-crunchy crackling, freshly-caught mackerel, perfectly pink lamb and rich and intense chocolate mousse, all washed down with a couple of glasses of champers! Everything about the day was perfect – the sun shone and our tastebuds were satisfied! We’re already planning our next trip back!
…pouring our own pints at The Thirsty Bear. This sports pub in Southwark not only let’s you pull pints from your own table, you can also order food and other drinks from an iPad, meaning you don’t ever have to leave your seat.
…promenading at the Royal Albert Hall. We watched / listened to the BBC Philharmonic orchestra play Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’ Symphony No. 5, before seeing the 80 year old composer on stage to receive his applause. Lovely cultured evening.
