What Fever’s playing in 2024

Next up in our 2024 look ahead series –  the world highest-grossing entertainment industry, gaming!

The Fever team has put together their top picks for games they’re looking forward to getting stuck into this year. See you at the controller!

The Last of US Part 2 Remastered – 19 January 2024

An instant classic, this harrowing, tear-jerking and impactful game, left players both wanting more and needing a break. Luckily for fans, this remastered version – exclusively for the PS5 – brings both new content, in the form of survival like “Lost Levels”, as well as the full game in PS5 spec. TLOU fans better get ready for this roller coaster again.

Tekken 8 – 26 January 2024

The heavily anticipated fighting game returns for it’s eighth mainline game, but the 10th overall installment in the series. With an obvious emphasis on competition and aggressiveness in fighting games like this, the games director Katushiro Harada, stated “the key word to relay the concept for the battle system is aggressiveness”. Better gets those combos under your belt, eh?

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – 29 February 2024

For a franchise that is now in its second decade (and counting), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is still mustering huge excitement amongst fans. This sequel to the blockbuster Final Fantasy VII Remake, is set to release on this year’s Leap Day – an intriguing choice, especially for a game series with its sneaky attitude towards time.

Alone in the Dark – 20 March 2024

With the likes of Jodie Comer and David Harbour starring in this reimagining of the 1992 game, Alone in the Dark is a gritty and gothic survival horror game. Taking inspiration from the Resident Evil series and its third person perspective, this is sure to be an interesting installment in the series – if you dare enter Derceto Manor.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree (DLC) – no release date yet

If the rumours are to be believed, developer FromSoftware is set to release this expansion to the incredible and massive Elden Ring early this year. In typical FromSoftware fashion, no trailer or even screenshots have been released yet, meaning the full details are still shrouded in mystery. With no concrete date in sight just yet, you Tarnished will have to wait a little longer yet.

Silent Hill 2 Remake – no release date yet

Now this one has a monumental legacy to live up to and could (emphasis on could) be dropping on PS5 this year. The 2001 classic Silent Hill 2, will be modernized and recreated with all the bells and whistles of the PS5. The developers have made a point that the tone, style and atmosphere will be retained, with the story being a major focus, while the gameplay and graphics have been rebuilt from the ground up. So how much are we all looking forward to seeing Pyramid Head in all their PS5 glory?
