What’s Hot – 27/05/22

Another week of Fever fun is in the bag. It’s been a busy one but we’ve done some great work (if we do say so ourselves) and have a well-earned weekend just a few hours away. But don’t fear, the Fever Elves have still had their ear to the ground to round up What’s Hot this week…

Also, we feel like next week should be royal or jubilee themed. So, thoughts on a postcard. Or we might skip a week since there’s no Friday. We’ll keep you in suspense.

It’s Harry’s House and we’re all just living in it…

Regardless of your opinion on One Direction, one cannot doubt that each of those lads has had a decent career (and some mad accent evolution) post-breakup …but none quite like our Harry. The 28-year-old Redditch born superstar has spent the last six years exploring the boundaries of his own creativity outside of the world of boyband pop. His latest album Harry’s House, his third full album post-split, which was released earlier this week to rave reviews, smashed the charts and vinyl sales in just days showing that Mr Styles solo career is certainly booming past those of his former bandmates…which doesn’t come as much as a surprise.

A good week all round then for Harry, topped off by his appearance on CBeebies Bedtime Stories in some truly excellent pyjamas. How much higher can his star rise?

Just another normal day of Barclays…

This week we reached peak Barclays. 10 years on from “Agueroooooooooo!” – let’s not talk about the new statue – the final day of the Premier League had it all on the line. The title race, fight for European qualification, and of course, the dreaded drop had footy fans up and down the country frantically flicking through Sky Sports’ live coverage all afternoon. For a brief moment, it looked like City had slipped courtesy of Gerrard’s Villa, but three goals in 15 minutes sent City to a fourth title in five years. Meanwhile, Arsenal came over all Spursy and Leeds saved their skins for another year. A fitting sign-off to football’s first full season of capacity crowds since 2018-2019.

Keeping up with the Kardashians: Wedding edition…

Did you hear? If not, how not?! Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian got married for the third (and we are now assuming final) time on Sunday at what seemed to be the most extravagant Italian wedding event ever. From the dress, the attendees (or non-attendees, Scott Disick, we’re looking at you), to meal portion sizes and very interesting wedding favours, there’s A LOT to talk about. But we’ll try to keep it short and sweet. First the dress (and the veil), which was certainly…something… and reminded us slightly of a Halloween party costume ‘sexy ghost bride’ kinda vibe. And those portion sizes of pasta, was Yolanda Hadid in charge of catering or what? And not only was it teeny tiny in size, but also looked a bit like what your mate would throw together on a hungover Wednesday at uni. Of all the pastas available they went with spaghetti and tinned tomatoes.

We can’t get enough of Britney…

The Britney renaissance continues… Back again and fans are set to go wild for her latest endeavour. Earlier this year some very well-known faces came together in Los Angeles to shoot an A24 limited series which was set to be the talk of 2022 – The Idol. The show itself is a product of Sam Levinson, Reza Fahim and The Weeknd who have done just about everything from co-writing to playing the main characters on the project. We’re certain we will soon be living in an The Idol obsessed society. And it’s rumoured the idol herself Britney Spears will be involved! So, keep your eyes peeled and let us all hope and pray we get to see the queen on our screens once again.
