When in Rome…
Last week, two of the most adventurous members of Fever’s Toshiba team packed their bags and hopped on a jet plane for the sunny sights of Rome, The Eternal City! But with 30 of the country’s finest tech press in tow, this was to be no ordinary city break.
After seeing the wrong kind of 4:30am (i.e. alarm clock, not après-club), we met 30 sleepy-eyed journalists at Heathrow ready to board the plane that would take them all the way to Toshiba World. Not a magical faraway technology land, but a pan-European press conference that would unveil Toshiba’s 2011 line-up of shiny new products.
At the historic Cinecitta Film Studios, where movie classics including Cleopatra and Ben Hur were filmed, over 200 journalists from around Europe were given the chance to be the first to see the very latest in cutting-edge technology as Toshiba announced its new range of innovative products.
Following the press conference, media were given the chance to explore ancient Rome at an after party hosted on the film set used for the television series Rome, creating a dramatic backdrop for the festivities.
The event resulted in coverage on some of the UK’s biggest technology websites, including Tech Radar, CNET, Pocket-lint, Electric Pig and Trusted Reviews.
Togas – check, sunshine – check, swaths of coverage – check. Nice job Caesar!
